Sandy Wren, Managing Member (BA, BA Hons Development Studies)
Sandy is a graduate from the University of Port Elizabeth, majoring in Political Science, Sociology and Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Sandy obtained a BA Honours Degree in Development Studies in 2003 for which she obtained distinctions in courses in Environmental Management.
Sandy specialises in public facilitation as well as the management of Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA’s) and Basic Assessment Reports (BAR’s). A former Regional Director of Idasa (Institute for Democracy in SA) she has extensive experience in the management and coordination of EIA’s as well as public participation processes. The following lists some of the projects in which Sandy has played a role: EIA’s for the Coega Industrial Development Zone and Port, Expansion of the Addo Elephant National Park, Boardwalk Casino and Resort Development, Coega Aluminium Smelter, Sustainable Coastal Development Policy for SA, Proposed Liquid Natural Gas to Power Project at Coega, Proposed N2 Wild Coast Toll Road Project, Biodiversity Conservation Assessment and Action Plan for the Wild Coast, Regional General and Hazardous Waste Processing Facility for the Eastern Cape.
Marisa Jacoby, Environmental Assessment Practitioner has a BSc Honours Botany (cum laude), majoring in Botany and specialising in Environmental Management from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. In partial fulfilment of the requirements for this degree she completed two treatises entitled: “Germination inhibition in Syncarpha recurvata“ and “A GIS approach to designation of a nature reserve for the PPC mine at Grassridge”. Marisa has worked as an Environmental Assessment practitioner as well as a biophysical specialist (fauna and flora) on various Basic Assessments, Scoping and EIA Processes for new residential developments, expansion of agricultural activities, broiler production facilities, and bulk infrastructure projects.
Wandile Junundu, Process Assistant, has gained extensive experience in community based consultation and liaison with various organisations and structures throughout the entire Eastern Cape Province. Wandile is an integral part of the project team and plays an important role in communication with grass roots organisations and communities. Wandile has worked on projects such as the Coega IDZ and Harbour, Pechiney Aluminium Smelter, Expansion of Greater Addo Elephant National Park, Coega Integrated LNG to Power Project and the N2 Wild Coast Toll Road Project
